Firefighters Alan Bender and Constantine Sypsomos were promoted to the position of Lieutenant on February 1, 2023. Both became career firefighters on 4/30/2007 and have been valued firefighters/employees.
Alan previously served in 2004 over in Iraq as a defense contractor doing fire rescue for the military. Aside from his career here at the Deptford Fire Department, Alan also is a paramedic for Inspira. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with his daughter Addison.
Constantine first joined the Fire department as a volunteer in October 1997. Constantine also works part time as an EMT for Cooper Hospital and Gloucester County. He also is a certified instructor across the state. In his free time, Con enjoys hanging out and having fun with his son Adam, his girlfriend Alicia and her daughter Ember.
